The first time I heard the word “Facebook” from a friend, I knew it was something special for some Nigerian guys who can’t woo a lady. Besides, I concluded that it would be an opportunity for one to meet one’s old friends.
About a week later, I remembered a girlfriend of mine in the high school whom I had lost contact with eight years ago.
It was a good Saturday morning in my house when I turned on my computer, and in the course of surfing the Internet I found “Facebook.”
After signing up, I thought of her; so, I went to the search engine for her. And to my chagrin, she’s not on “Facebook”. But I saw a pretty lady and I dropped a note for her. In the note, I said, ‘I saw and read your profile, and was wondering if a guy from the hood can be your friend.’ She asked if I am working and I said no.
I was astonished by her reply: “Our friendship will start on Face book and end on facebook.”
It will interest my numerous readers that meeting a lady via the facebook has got no hassles or problems as long as you are good looking.
Some couple of months ago, I met a young damsel in her early 20s on facebook and we started getting along. From the stage of mere friendship via the Internet, we started chatting on the phone. It later became expedient for us to arrange a meeting venue for the two of us.
This girl is more beautiful than what I saw on face book, and I was beginning to dream of playing games with her. It’s not that I am promiscuous; rather, I can’t just watch an angel pass me by without asking for her blessings.
We started our chat with a lot of questions in order to have a better knowledge of each other, but her actions towards me got a twist when I informed her of my jobless status. The discussion became boring after this revelation and she refused to pick my calls or reply any of my text messages. I really can’t fathom this ugly attitude of hers because of my status.
However, from the look of things, I think she was looking for a rich guy and not a koboless guy like me who is yet to get a means of livelihood. Our behaviour has just gone a long way to express the fact that ladies are just like grocery stores where different kinds of gifts are sold.
There’s the need for cash in order to purchase anything at a grocery store. Lest I forget, you don’t get a good gift at a cheap price.
It is quite erroneous to look down on a guy because he has no job.
Consequently, I painted my status of joblessness in order to know if she could stand being in a relationship with a koboless guy. Thank God, I am gainfully employed.
So, my dear ladies on facebook, don’t distance yourself from your friends because he has no sweet candy or lovely gifts to part away with. Don’t get carried away by today’s predicament because one day the table, as they say, will turn.
So, face book is meant to unite people beyond the Internet and provide opportunity for a lifelong acquaintance.
